Testimonials

Cameron Ross

Production Director, J G Ross

J G Ross Bakers are a second generation family business based in Inverurie serving customers throughout the North East of Scotland.  Delivering fresh bakery six days a week it is imperative that we have reliable equipment to ensure customers orders are fulfilled on time every time.  A. Beattie Engineering Ltd have assisted us for the last five years after our previous engineer retired.

Although we have some new modern state of the art equipment, we also have some older bakery machinery which, whilst built to last the test of time, the manufacturers weren’t and are no longer in business.  This is one area that A. Beattie Engineering excels.  Their bakery engineering knowledge is second to none and when parts are no longer available, they are able to make the part or engineer a solution to suit.

We have also used them to enhance our preventative maintenance schedule so break downs are now few and far between.  However, when that does happen, we can always rely on A. Beattie Engineering to respond swiftly and so far on every occasion ensure that what could have been a serious problem turns into a slight hiccup.

One of the main benefits they have provided is providing solutions on design flaws on equipment.  Most recently A. Beattie Engineering engineered a solution for our dough piece wetting station.  Originally the machinery turned the dough piece before wetting the bottom, turning again, and seeding the top.  This gave us numerous problems including dough pieces not turning properly.  The A. Beattie Engineering solution was to stop the turning and water from above using spray nozzles.  In his words “when someone (the manufacturer) says it can’t be done my ears prick up, but to be honest it’s just straightforward engineering!”  It also shows the Germans don’t always get it right!!

Vorsprung Durch Technik Andy

With Andy’s permission I shared his “straightforward engineering” solution with them.

I have no hesitation in recommending A. Beattie Engineering

Nikki Tierney

Innovation Hub Manager, The Oil & Gas Technology Centre

The Innovation Hub is a state-of-the-art facility to drive innovation and accelerate new technologies to help unlock the full potential of the UK North Sea.

As part of our Open Innovation Programme we exhibit emerging technologies and we needed a safe and reliable method to get exhibits in and out of our head office building.  A Beattie Engineering Ltd conceptualised, designed and installed a scissor lift to meet this requirement.  We found A Beattie Engineering Ltd very quickly understood what we were trying to achieve and worked proactively with us to develop a safe and cost effective solution.  We also found them flexible in delivery, working alongside our main contractors and providing support where needed.  During and after install they ensured the lift was operating safely, advising on best operating practice for our Hub team.

At our first major exhibitor event, Robotics Week, we had a number of large, unique and very specialised items on display.  Without exception, our exhibitors have complimented us on how easy it has been to safely and securely install their robotics.

Simon Burkitt

Project Manager, New Dunker Facility RNAS Yeovilton

Royal Naval Air Station (RNAS) Yeovilton has opened a world leading, first of its kind in the UK, facility to provide survival training in the event of a helicopter incident or accident over the water.

GallifordTry were challenged with a tight programme to deliver the facility, this was passed on to our supply chain. Essential to the operation of the facility was the Survival Systems Ltd (SSL) crane which was to be installed by A Beattie Engineering Ltd. Through initial consultation with them, we discovered their expertise could provide an offsite fabrication and transportation solution which allowed the crane to be installed in one lift, early to the main programme and in a significantly reduced timescale. cA very professional and customer facing service with a broad knowledge, providing an optimized solution, with a trouble-free installs.

Garry Marsden

Visitor Enterprise Manager, Balmoral Estate

At Balmoral we were looking for a solution to old heater grills that had become unsightly and unsafe. There did not seem to be an off the shelf solution. I was given Andy Beattie's contact. Andy was quick to come up with a solution that was both affordable and effective. The job was completed quickly with all parts manufactured and installed by Andy himself. The result speaks for itself and I would have no hesitation in recommending Andy to you for similar projects.

Bill Dean

Managing Director, Deans of Huntly

Here at Deans Bakery we have a wide range of plant in our manufacturing operations here in Huntly, a good number of which have been made bespoke to our own particular specifications and requirements.

sOn numerous occasions, Deans Bakery has enlisted the highly skilled services of A Beattie Engineering Ltd whenever equipment has failed or indeed is failing. Often enough, the manufacturers of the plant equipment are not able to sort and repair our equipment and we call on the services of A Beattie Engineering Ltd.

With the complexity of equipment that we have, when it fails our first port of call is always A Beattie Engineering Ltd. They have an abundance of knowledge across a broad spectrum of processing equipment, beyond that they have excellent contacts in their respective fields who can assist wherever required.

A Beattie Engineering Ltd are dedicated to problem solving and immerse themselves in whatever is required to problem solve and ensure we are back up and running.

We recently had reason to call on A Beattie Engineering Ltd for the repair and redesign of working components on an automated cutting line. We had resigned ourselves to the fact that we had a significant Capital Expenditure project (CAPEX) coming at us for a replacement unit. Thankfully A Beattie Engineering Ltd solved a number of design flaws for us, they worked through complex gearing and timing issues and upgraded weak structural areas on the original equipment.

The cutter has never performed to the levels it does now and is smoother than ever, drastically improving product wastage as an aside. We are now confident that it will serve our needs well for many years to come. I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending A Beattie Engineering Ltd.

Mike Whigham

Senior Coating Engineer, TechnipFMC

A Beattie Engineering has been providing fabrication services to us over the last year with our internal R&D programs. Although all the items specialised with non-standard materials with extremely tight deadlines, A Beattie Engineer provided critical review with regards to the methods of fabrication as well as several points throughout construction to review the items mid-fabrication to allow opportunity for revision. This ensured to us that the items arrived not only on time but that they were fit for purpose and could be sent directly into service which was paramount to, not only this project, but all our future projects success.
